Strategy and operations.

Most marketing freelancers will either help you strategically (analyzing, auditing, and coming up with recommendations) or operationally (executing campaigns).

In my experience as a client, in an early-stage startup, you’re usually looking for both. You need someone with enough strategic and creative thinking to lay out a plan, but you also need to get shit done.

If you hire a consultant who will only work on strategy, it won’t help as you don’t have the workforce and time to execute it.

If you hire a contributor/expert who can’t make systemic marketing decisions, it’s not efficient either. Early-stage marketing is about testing and iterating growth loops. If the expert works on something and it doesn’t bring results, you’ll need to look for another expert losing time and money in the process.

<aside> 🎯 If you don’t have someone leading marketing in your team, you need a part-time CMO who’s capable of both deciding what to do and doing it. That’s what I’m here to do.
